Preventive Measures against Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

Library of Institute of Economic Research Service restrictions

from March 13 until further

Library of Institute of Economic Research will restrict services from March 13 until further to curb COVID-19 spread. Please wear a mask in the library.

  1. Users are not allowed to use PCs and stay for a long time in the library.
    • The reading seats are available for up to 2 people, 2 hours.
    • Please find library items to borrow by searching Kyoto University's OPAC KULINE before visiting the library.
  2. KU members can apply for a borrowing request via e-mail.
    • The reservation period is 10 days.
    • Please e-mail to lib,,,kier.kyoto-u.ac.jp (please replace ,,, by @)
  3. We accept reservations for outsiders.
    • Not available to those without a reservation.
    • Please contact us in advance through the library of your university / institution or public library, you can use materials from this library. (visit,or interlibrary loan)

Renew and return

from April 3 until further

  1. The time to extend the borrowing period
    • You can extend the borrowing period five times, unless they are researved by other users.
  2. How to return books
    • (A) Using the book drop in front of the building
    • (B) By postal mail
    • Sending Address

    • Pack the library materials appropriately
      so that they are not damaged in transit.
    • Specify on the package that library materials are inside.
    • Users are to pay necessary expense.
    • Keep the copy of the delivery invoice in case of accidents.

Notes for visiting the library

from March 12 until further

  1. Those suspected to be infected are not admitted to the library.
    The symptoms include fever, cough, sneezing and fatigue.
  2. Please note the following:
    • Wash your hands before coming the library.
    • Have coughing manners including wearing a mask.
